Prologue: In which Eoin is an emo kid but not really

It was raining leaves. Or not raining, of course not raining. But the leaves were falling from the trees of the park and Eoin was standing there and waiting something very important to happen.

He didn’t know what it was going to be. Maybe something unusual. Or then, nothing. Nothing important like it had always been after his left him and his mother. Nothing important. Nothing. No thing. No.

Eoin leaped a few steps closer to his favourite tree which was now all coloured with orange and red and yellow and brown. And there he was, the red-haired boy, standing under his favourite tree and waiting. Just waiting. In vain.

He sat down and pulled a box of cigarettes from his pocket. It didn’t take a single second to take a cigarette between his thin lips and light it up. It was warm and cold and drowsy at the same time and the smoke was beautiful. He shook his head – god how he hated to be so angsty and miserable. He should just smile but yet he couldn’t. How absurd was that. Soon after he had smoked his cigarette, he went outside the park and started to walk towards his home. Mom wouldn’t be there yet, she never was, so luckily he could get a nice moment of peace without any worries or leaves raining down. And there would be a pot of tea and Eoin would play Oasis as loud as he wanted. It would be a blessing. Or maybe just a bit happier moment, but it would be fun and it would be the best day of the week or maybe even a month. It was so funny how a usual day without anything special was always the best. Maybe Eoin just liked the usual. OR he didn’t like the unusual. Things were always better if they remained as they were.

Oh but so little he knew about the day and how usual it actually was.
